WHERE TO STAY

HOUSING

One of the most important things to consider is where you will stay when you arrive in Calgary.

Ideally, the best way to make yourself safe is to make arrangements before you move.

We will advise thinking about temporary housing first.

Is there a friend or family member you can stay with for a while?

Or is there a rental (like Airbnb), a hotel, or another type of temporary accommodation?

If you would like us to arrange for temporary housing for you, you may join the queue at Refugees Housed Here.

While you're doing this research, compare prices within Calgary. For example, compare the prices of several hotels or temporary rental apartments. We advise you not to compare prices in Calgary with prices in your country.

If you don't have money for accommodation, share that information with our settlement worker at the airport. They will refer you to further steps or shelters. More about shelters in Calgary you can find here.
